I have a bone to pick. I didn’t think this would be a topic I would cover, but I am. I might be naïve, I might be jaded, I might even be guilty, but I am not excusing myself or others… I am simply… frustrated?
We live in a world, unfortunately, with selfish, shallow, “single-serving” people. I think it has partly to do with society and culture, partly with upbringing, an even somewhat to do with education.
For every unfortunate soul out there, there is a wonderful one, who is lost, jaded, confused, downtrodden, or just done with the former individuals. They have encountered too many of those unfortunate souls. Too many or too big disappointments, too unforgivable of offenses, too crappy of a significant other…. And all that means, they cannot be ready, open and available for someone with a good soul. They are weary, they are tired, they are done. They can’t. Yet, I could argue on the side of optimism and say there are many people out there like them, and maybe they committed an act of an unfortunate soul once before, but they saw and learned and came back to the light.
Plenty of people out there that would be perfect for each other in their imperfections, but they can’t let go of past experiences, they can’t move on and break down those walls, and even when they do, they may find a reason to not do so all the way.
Then it may be too late.
Is there anybody out there…
Say something.
