New Branch of Occupy Wall Street: Occupy YOU

Occupy Wall Street is entering its 20th day. If you haven't heard about it yet... Go here and select something. Do your own research. Don't listen JUST to what others tell you. I appreciate what they are doing and hope they can organize a bit better to be a real force. One can dream.

When I say Occupy YOU, I mean it.
Are you tired of corporate greed? Buy Local
Are you upset with outsourcing? Same
Got the big oil blues? Do your research. Go Green. Bike, Train, Walk.
Are you tired of food that is bad for you? Make better, healthier, local choices

You vote with your dollar. Every Day. Every Transaction. You buy Chevron gas. Read This and you may not.Companies move overseas to continue to rake in profits. Partly because it's cheaper over there and in part because thats just the way you compete in our marketplace... Right?

Poor little old Nike. Or Nestle. Or Wal-Mart. They have to move their manufacturing operations overseas just to compete... Right?

No. Nike is an industry leader and has enough money to say, we won't do business with companies that violate human rights. Nestle is in the same boat, and they are a double offender. Okay so 40% of the worlds Cocoa comes from Africa. Do they need to do business with companies that violate child labor and basically function off of slave labor? Do they have to ruin every eco-system they set up a bottled water refinery at? Wal-Mart. What happened with the Sam Walton Made in America dream? Wal-Mart continually buys products on its shelves from companies that participate in basic human rights violations.

Your saying, "Well, those companies are their own, Nike/Nestle/Wal-Mart don't do it themselves."

Would you buy a burger from a guy he beats his wife and kid to get it to you faster? Would you buy a car from a guy who throws all his waste in the forest behind his house? Would you buy bottled water from someone who pollutes the very water you drink, so you HAVE to buy it? Would you buy from a criminal?

No? So go look in your fridge. Your closet. Your home. Where is your chocolate, athletic wear, and where are your receipts from? Cause you do. Almost daily.

Go protest at Zucotti Park. I will applaude you. But leave your Nikes, your chocolate or Neslte brand bottled water and anything bought at Wal-Mart at home.

Don't take my work for it. Google it. Yahoo it. Bing it. Wherever you would like? Go look it up yourself. Just like you next music download, amazon order, or just facebook post, its all at your fingertips and takes about the same amount of time.

One more thing. RIP to Steve Jobs. As brilliant as a mind he was, he should have prevented his own workers from having to sign petitions not to kill themselves. Yes, Apple is a offender too. All to keep up with "demand" of the American people. Industry leader just trying to make ends meet... right? Don't believe me?

Join Occupy Wall Street regardless where you live. Occupy YOU

Much appreciated!! Great blogpost. Even that Apple one hurt me in the gut (because it is so very true). I stopped shopping at WalMart long ago, Nestle can bite me and Nike sold out! Exxon and Chevron can both rot. And nothing you say is false. Speak the truth, Frank! #Occupywallstreet
